Our History: Decades of Media Milling and Lab Mixing Experience

Originally founded in 1979 as Eiger Machinery, Inc., EMI Mills has been at the forefront of media milling technology for decades. In 2011, the company rebranded as Engineered Mills, Inc., solidifying our reputation for innovation in wet milling and fine particle dispersion. Our media/bead mills and lab mixers deliver uniform dispersions and ultra-fine particle sizes for a variety of applications.

In 2023, EMI Mills was acquired by SCHOLD, a leader in the industrial mixing equipment industry. This strengthened our capabilities and expanded our product offering to provide complete process solutions (i.e. pre-mix and let-down equipment). EMI Mills continues to operate as an independent division, but the partnership enhances our ability to deliver media mills and lab mixers backed by SCHOLD’s expertise and support.

In 2023, EMI Mills was acquired by SCHOLD, a leader in industrial mixing equipment.
